Last Class before Christmas!

This was my last class before Christmas, and I love these Christmas shapes.

Three candy cane apertures cut with the Holiday Collection Framelits, with small pieces of paper behind.

A little outlining with the new White Stampin' Chalk marker finished them off nicely!

A simple iris technique to fill the tree.  Strips of paper adhered to the back of the tree aperture creates an interesting look and a great way to use up your paper scraps!

The muslin bags available in the Autumn/Winter catalogue are so easy to stamp onto.  A simple way to create a treat bag (mine is filled with chocolates of course!) or a decorative bag for a small gift such as jewellery.

New Annual Catalogue ILWS Blog Hop!!

Hello and welcome to Sparkle Crafts!  I am involved in a Blog Hop today to show you projects using the new products available in the recently released Stampin' Up! 2013/2014 Annual Catalogue.

You may have arrived here from the talented Lorraine who has created some lovely projects.

The project below uses the Label Love set which has 7 greetings within the same shaped label.  With the matching punch it is very easy to create a simple card with no fuss!

The close up below shows the Happy Birthday label, punched with the matching punch and layered on a punched circle and scallop circle to create a rosette effect.  Simple!

The semi circle in Summer Starfruit has been embossed with the Chevron embossing folder which gives texture.

I love these new ready made Tag a Bag Gift boxes, complete with acetate sleeve.  They are flat packed and are so easy to assemble, especially for those last minute gift boxes.  This one was filled with sweets from my youth (flying saucers, foam shrimps and bananas, milk and cola bottles, teeth and lips)! As you can see they didn't last long enough for me to take a photo!  The wrapper is simply a strip of Designer Series Paper and some punched circles and a punched Happy Birthday tag tied on with bakers twine from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Label Love (page 33)
Designer Series Paper: Soho Subway (page 151)
Ink Pads & Card Stock: Early Espresso, Summer Starfruit, Very Vanilla, Island Indigo (pages 138-149)
Punches: Scallop Circle 2 3/8", Circle 1 3/4", Circle 2 1/2", Artisan Label (pages 180 - 183)
Embossing Folder: Chevron (page 191) used in the Big Shot (page 184)
Accessories: Tag a Bag Gift Boxes  and Bakers twine from accessory kit (page 158)

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my projects and if you didn't start the blog hop at the beginning, check out Laura's blog for more exciting projects.

Clare :-)

Sale-a-Bration and Spring/Summer Catalogue Blog Hop!

Welcome to the ILWS Sale-a-Bration and Spring/Summer Catalogue Blog Hop.  You may have landed here from the talented Sarah and hope you enjoy my project using the gorgeous products available free for every £45 spend during Sale-A-Bration offer time, 22 January to 22 March.

As I am useless at organising my cards to send and in desperate need of some efficiency, I decided to create a box that I could use to store the cards as I make them.  I made index cards for each month, leaving space to write on the date and event.  I can then file the cards as I make them, ensuring I have one ready when needed, well that's the plan ;-)

The box features bunting made from card and the Sycamore Street papers punched with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch, with the lettering from the Broadsheet Alphabet Set.  The flower was made with the scallop circle punch - 5 scallop circles, snipped at each scallop, dampened with a water brush and scrunched up to create the petals.  Each one was layered on top of each other, and secured with Tombow liquid glue.  When dry, a button was added to the centre with a glue dot - simple, yet effective!

Here is a close up of the the index cards.  I used the Madison Avenue stamp set to decorate the ruled card and the tabs were made with the Decorative Label punch and the Broadsheet Alphabet stamp set.

The vibrant colours are Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry and Island Indigo.  All these colours are in the Sale-a-bration Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper pack.

Inside the box lid I added a calendar pad and a small envelope to hold my stamps.  The envelope was made using the Scallop Envelope Bigz die and the Big Shot.  Now I have no excuse!!

Supplies:
Stamp Sets:    Madison Avenue, Broadsheet Alphabet
Ink and Card: Crumb Cake, River Rock, Whisper White, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo
Punches/Dies: Decorative Label Punch, Scallop Envelope Bigz Die, Scallop Circle Punch, Petite Pennants Builder Punch
Accessories:   Sale-a-bration Sycamore Street ribbon and button pack

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my project and you can now hop on over to the talented Leanie where you will find some more inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by,
Clare.

Betsy's Blossoms Calendar 2013

At last I found another use for these acrylic photo stands!  I have made plenty of post it note holders but  now have an alternative use for them!

I made this calendar using an acrylic photo stand and the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set.  I thought it would be good to be able to change the background colour for the seasons or whatever colour you fancy for the day, week or month!  It is easy to slide the card in and out to change and it gives 4 different looks.

The bird is mounted on dimensionals directly on to the acrylic stand so that it can sit above all the background flowers.  I hope you like it.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Betsy's Blossoms
Card: Whisper White, Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse
Ink: Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse
Accessories: Acrylic photo stand, calendar pad

Thanks for stopping by!
Clare.
